| | Marine Delterme was born in 1972 and was brought up in Paris. Her parents restored paintings thanks to which she gained at an early age a sensibility to art. After having posed for the most well-known fashion photographers (Lindberg, Roversi, Meisel, Weber, Avedon, Watson, Isserman ..), she devotes her time to sculpture, in parallel with her acting career. She creates faces out of time, with a disturbed maturity in between primary art and egyptian art. Her taste for lines and shapes close to distortion evokes artists like Freud, Barcelo or Ray Caesare whom she admires. With Marine Delterme, the inner feeling is always more important than the sensual aspect : the "ecorchés" she sculpts is close to an experimental world which reminds us of Korperwelten's work. Since 2007, she develops a new technique : her faces are conceived and created as neutral props like pure canvasses on which she applies flat tints of primary colours which become abstract with sand, earth and paint making each of these creations a unique piece. |
